Marketing.

What feelings does that word elicit in you, friend?

If it's "uncertainty about how and when I market" or "it feels sleazy"...do not stress.

So many of us coaches (or entrepreneurs with a beating heart!) who are truly focused on helping others have struggled at one time or another with the feelings of worry about being "salesy" or simply "not 'good' at writing"

In fact, something I hear all the time from clients is just that.

They’re scared of being too markety… feeling like they’re pushing something inauthentic onto people...

They’re plagued by the idea that when they start speaking to their ideal client, it feels sleazy or icky.

Or simply feeling like they're not saying the "right" thing in the "right" way.

Sound familiar?

Let’s address that feeling -- you feel this way because you’ve experienced that sleazy marketing in action.

You know -- those people who show up to your door telling you anything and everything they can about a product or service...just to make a sale. And it screams of inauthenticity.

It’s that awkward feeling of annoyance and pity. They’re wasting your time, but, at the same time, you don’t want to be rude.

And, let’s be honest, you don’t want to be or feel like that used car salesman.

Here’s the thing: For you, the idea that your marketing is sleazy will NEVER be true.

YOUR marketing--if it comes from the heart--will never be inauthentic.

Your marketing can be 100% you.

You may be thinking, “But, c’mon Aliya, how am I any different that anyone else?”

"How will I sound different, and what sets my marketing apart from anyone else in the industry?"

You, my friend, have something unique to offer to the world.

(I know this because you're here, reading this, and wondering about how to make things better. Your marketing better. Connecting in a way that it speaks to the exact right people)

You have that desire to help.

A quest to make a difference.

A love of people, listening, and just being there for them.

You are a coach.

And, your bottom line, it’s to make a difference -- not just to make a buck.

So, your marketing, it’s different. It’s authentic.

Why?

Because you’re coming from a place of truly caring about how you help someone. You’re concerned about the outcome.

Let me let you in on my little secret…

When I went to graduate school for social work, something we talked about repeatedly was starting where the client is at -- emotionally and physically.

And, I’ve incorporated this notion into my marketing.

Because, think about it…..when do you feel the most connected? The most valued?

When you’re understood? Deeply understood?

If your marketing speaks to someone on the level that they’re at and their level of consciousness, you will attract the people who will gain the most from your help.

You understand the problem they’re experiencing. You understand their emotions.

You show a deep understanding of where that person is  and what they’re going through...

You get it --- and they can sense that.

As a result, you build a deep connection.

There’s no show.

It’s real. It’s rooted in authenticity.

So, when you consider your marketing, ask yourself these questions:

  1. What would it look like for you to write to your ideal client and be completely real?

  2. What would it be like for you to market in a way where it feels like you’re being exactly who you are?

Marketing is an amazing way of showing that you understand and care about people.

It’s giving that amazing gift you have to the world.

So, in your marketing, let go of your own ego. Let go of those worries and anxieties about what it sounds like.

In fact, speak into a voice note on your phone. Listen to how it sounds. Is it coming from the heart?

Get out of your head and into your heart. Think about what you want to express and what you know about the difficulty or problem they’re facing.

^^ That’s when you can make a difference. Authentically. ^^

And, impact and income follow realness and authenticity.
